How Do I... Make An Appointment?
All appointments are offered on a 24-hour access service. We will
always try and get you an appointment on the day or the following day. To book
appointments please contact the surgery via the automated service and listen
to the instructions given or, alternatively, book through reception staff as
early as possible the day before you wish to be seen. Not all doctors are here
every day, so if you prefer to see a specific GP and your condition can wait,
please refer to Surgery Times.
We do have a number of urgent appointments available each day for conditions
that need to be treated immediately.
There are also a number of appointments between 6.00 - 7.30pm on Monday evenings
and between 7.00 – 7.30am on a Wednesday morning that are bookable in advance
for patients who find it difficult to attend the surgery during working hours.
If you are unable to attend an appointment please cancel the appointment so we
can offer it to someone else. Patients who consistently fail to attend appointments
will be removed from our list.
How Do I... Obtain A Home Visit?
We ask all patients to come to the surgery wherever possible, mainly
because we are better equipped to investigate and treat your condition at the
surgery. Additionally, we can see three patients in the surgery in the time it
takes to see one patient at home.
If you need to be visited at home please telephone the surgery before 11.00am.
The receptionist will ask you for details about the nature of the situation so
the doctor can assess priorities. The doctor may telephone you prior to visiting,
and may decide a visit is not needed.
How Do I... Obtain Test Results?
Blood and urine test results are available after five working days. Please
ring the surgery between 10.00am - 3.00pm for your results. It is important for
you to ring for your results as some tests may need to be repeated, a prescription
may be required or the doctor may need to see you. Please note that the reception
staff are not qualified to discuss test results - they can only read the doctor’s
comments.
There is an option on the automated telephone service for you to be connected to the test
results line. Results can only be given to the patient concerned.
How Do I... Obtain A Sickness Certificate?
If you are absent from work for seven days or less you do not need a doctor's
certificate. Self-certificate forms should be available from your employer.
